This program provides peer support and guidance for teenagers in the Niagara Region who are having some difficulty in coping with the death of a loved family member or friend. Service is provided by trained volunteer facilitators who coordinate an eight week peer support program for teens (age 13 - 19). Topics such as feelings, holidays and special occasions, commemorating and saying goodbye are explained.

Communication is facilitated through a variety of teen-centered activities. Referrals may be made by anyone including teachers, family members, health care professionals, Home Care, clergy, friends or neighbours. Programs are offered twice a year - in the spring and fall. Registration is required. There is no fee for services.

TEEN 2 TEEN: MY GRIEF STORY
The Teen 2 Teen: My Grief Story one day retreat will be held on Thursday, May 9th.  This is a one-day retreat for teens, 14 to 19 years of age, who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives. It is a peer support based program to assist teens in sharing their story, listening to others, and learning coping strategies for journeying with their grief. Registration is free and priority will be given to first time attendees. There is limited space so it will be based on a first come first serve basis. Please fill out a registration form and waiver. Our initial deadline for registrations is Thursday, March 21st. The waiver needs to be signed by a parent and/or legal guardian for teens 14 – 17 years of age.  If the teen is 18 years of age, they are able to sign on their own behalf.
