Education and Awareness

Hospice Niagara provides information on palliative care service in Niagara. Consultation on education, information and resources for clients and caregivers is available. We maintain a lending library, and a speaker’s bureau is available to provide palliative education and information to the community.

View a short video about Our Services.

Hospice Palliative Care Education

Hospice Palliative Care Education serves health care providers in Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand and Brant.  The programs use an adult learning, case-based, learning-through-dialogue approach that blends classroom, online reflections, as well as mentoring and coaching strategies to assist the learner in transferring knowledge to their practice.

Please visit www.hpceducation.ca for a list of courses and learning opportunities.

Hospice Niagara Lending Library

The Hospice Niagara lending library offers resources for adults, as well as children and adolescents. The library is available to all hospice clients, staff and volunteers. Please call 905-984-8766 to see if the resource you want is available.

Die-alogues

Hospice Niagara created a series called “Die-alogues: Conversations about Death and Dying”, an informative series of educational discussions. This series will build public awareness and deepen understanding about death, dying and grief; create a supportive environment for discussion; debunk myths; develop individual knowledge/action in advanced care planning and other topics.

To book your session, please fill out the speaker request form and return it to Nancy Di Pasquale.

We thank and acknowledge the Retired Teachers of Ontario District 14 Niagara, its members, (retired educators and non-educator employees of Canadian School Boards or educational organizations who have joined RTO/ERO), that through their seed funding for this project have demonstrated that RTO/ERO District 14 and its members care about their communities and about public education, and are willing to help others who need assistance.
